Our world is running out of water, so, we have to sustainably manage all the natural resources of freshwater.
Policies implemented for water conservation by many countries are huge successes, that the world is realizing the value of water and the need to use it wisely. But we are still using water in an unhealthy way.
The studies show that out of 3%, only 0.1% of freshwater is remaining in this world. That 0.1% is for every species and very precious. We are learning to conserve water resources and save water from nursery classes itself, still, most of us haven’t learned it yet.
When we are going to learn it actually? In the last moment of our life, dying thirsty?
Rainwater harvesting is the easiest and common strategy for water conservation. A perfect tank or large pit is enough for this so that we can collect the rainwater from our terrace and land in these tanks/pits. Also, protect groundwater resources and practice sustainable methods to use it. Education on water conservation programs and how water systems work is a very important strategy used in the water conservation system.
It all depends on how we use water and how we conserve it for the coming generations. We are only contaminating water resources and we are striving for freshwater now. Many species are extinct already due to water scarcity and people in different areas are craving for freshwater, or at least some water drops now. In fact, lucky are those who have water to drink and for their basic needs.
We have to conserve water, at least for our future generations. Like ‘Oxygen Bars’ started in Delhi, we can expect a countless number of ‘Fresh Water Bars’ in the future. Let’s not make our future generations run out of water and other natural resources as well.
