Why, there has been an increase in grow of EV Industry in India

The EV (Electronic Vehicles) industry is one of the fastest-growing industries all across the globe. Many of the top car manufacturers like Tesla and Mercedes have turned their heads towards the development of this sector. This is because EV’s have a zero-emission rate and is healthier for the earth’s environment than vehicles that run on fuel. Today in many of the world’s biggest cities air pollution has become a major cause for health concerns. It is estimated that millions of people die each year due to health problems created by air pollution.  In India itself cities like Delhi, Faridabad, Mumbai, etc. have a high mortality rate caused due to the same.

The EV industry is still in a growing stage here in India.

It contributes to only about 1-2% of vehicles that run here in the nation.  Of these two-wheelers constitute the majority of the vehicles with almost 90% constituting it. Even so, it’s safe to say that it is growing as many of the Manufacturers in India have begun to start with research and other trials to get the vehicles on road. Even other nations are at their infancy in terms of the EV industry so our nation is doing pretty well in trying to keep up. In the past few years, there has been an increase in the sale of EVs in India. If the efficiency of these vehicles is improved it is sure to attract a larger crowd.

Here are some of the common issues that worry the buyers in the current scenario:

  • There are not many infrastructures that can help charge these vehicles. Since a very small amount of people use these vehicles there is a serious lack of charging units across the nation.
  • Since most of the Indian manufacturing units are for fuel-run vehicles the parts for electronic vehicles need to be imported. This is another cause for concern for the buyers who look for EV’s.
  • The EV’s available in the market right now is a bit expensive for common people compared to a vehicle that runs on fuel. So they choose them over EV’s.
  • The performance of EVs is quite low which is another reason people hesitate to buy them in India.

The above-mentioned issues are known to the manufacturers and they are working towards improving EV infrastructures across the nation.

It is only a matter of time before the EV industry will be in a booming period and more people will start buying and using EV’s here in India.
