Choosing a Worthy New Year Resolution

As we draw curtains on 2020 and welcome 2021 its that time again to bring up our new year resolutions which we choose to follow through the new year. When we were kids, we used to have simple resolutions as we would study hard or we will not lie etc. But as we grow up our idea of a new year resolution grows as well. Most of these resolutions are centred around us only and does not benefit society as a whole.

Isn’t it time we did something good not just for ourselves but also for our society we live in? If you are wondering what resolutions can help you get to that here is one simple one to start with.

Living a sustainable lifestyle: When we say living a sustainable lifestyle it means that we lead a life where nothing that we use or do goes a waste. As we all know the world population is booming at an alarming pace along with which our necessities and needs increase as well. Sooner or later, we will reach a point where our needs will be difficult to satisfy as we drain the resources and it becomes scarce.  To avoid this, we need to start making changes in life with immediate effect as it may be too late in future.

Just by choosing to lead a sustainable lifestyle, we have got nothing to lose.

When we say a sustainable lifestyle it is not that complicated to lead one. All it means here is we live our lives just as well as others do but use the bare minimum of resources required to do so. Right from reducing the electricity consumption in our homes to every single drop of water we save can mean that we are doing our part in leading a sustainable living. Of course, there are other ways as well like using electric vehicles for travelling, substituting solar energy instead of electricity, digital fashion etc. are all advance steps for those willing to do so. In case we are not able to afford an electrically powered vehicle it can be easily substituted for public transport since even then we end up saving fuel. As per research, it is estimated that in a few decades we will be exhausting nonrenewable resources. Another point to be noted is, many of these nonrenewable resources like petroleum are the main causes of the increase in pollution. Leading a sustainable life void of them will also mean we are preserving our environment for future generations to come.

So, it’s up to us to decide what our new year resolutions need to be. Keeping the above points in mind all we can hope is for a better tomorrow.
Wishing all our readers a happy and prosperous new year!
