XC40 Recharge Model is made up of sustainable materials
Volvo the Swedish maker of luxury cars is all set to deliver its new line of electric cars by October this year, while the bookings for it will start from June . They had come to a decision recently to only sell fully electric-powered cars including the hybrid models of the company by 2030 here in India.
The cars will have internal combustion engines for all models.
The XC40 recharge is powered by two204 electrically powered motors and has a 78kwh battery which gives it a range of over 400km. While the body looks similar to the regular XC40 the main differences are on what is inside.
The car is made up of sustainable materials so that once its lifetime is over it can be disposed of easily.
The car has some differences on its features as well. It doesn’t have a radiator grill compared to the old version and also under its hood, it has space to store items and accessories like your work materials etc.
Electric vehicles have been gaining momentum in the Indian market in recent years as the country is trying to tackle climate change and control its carbon dioxide release in order to control air pollution and global warming. Many of the top car manufactures like Tesla, Mercedes and Volvo are all set to release vehicles under the EV segment this year. One of the main concerns that hinder people from buying these cars is the price. The purchase cost of these cars are a bit high and not affordable and viable to all. To tackle this, the manufactures plan to study the needs of people and bring in cars based on their requirement and price range.
The government is also playing a role in this by lowering tariffs for these companies so that the vehicles can be sold in better prices.
Though there are cheaper cars compared to XC40 in the EV segment XC40 will be one of the cheapest cars in the luxury segment. Volvo is known for their quality cars which have high grades in both performance and safety segments and is as luxurious as a car can be. The car is set to be priced at 40 Lakhs in INR and the difference between its EV and petrol models will be low so that people will opt the EV version more.
