RiseUp4SDGs:https://bit.ly/3suZHie

#SDG 9 is one of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 2015.  The mission Statement of #SDG 9 is to build resilient infrastructure, promote sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation. #SDG 9 has eight targets and twelve indicators to measure its progress goal.

The SDGs are integrated, indivisible, and interlinked with each other.

To begin with ‘Industry’ of #SDG 9 is connected with #SDG 8: Decent work and Economic growth and #SDG 11: Sustainable Cities and Communities. ‘Innovation and Developing New Skills’ is related to #SDG 2: Zero Hunger, #SDG 6:  Clean Water and Sanitation and #SDG 7:  Affordable and Clean Energy.

Inclusive & sustainable industrialization, coupled with innovation & infrastructure, results in economic growth and generates employment and income. This helps to promote and introduce new technologies, international trade and enable the complete use of resources. Infrastructure needs to be innovative, adaptive, regenerative, and resilient.

#SDG 9 promotes innovative and sustainable technologies.

#SDG 9 ensures equal access to information and financial markets by all.

#SDG 9 recognizes that for sustainable societies technological development in infrastructure is a must.

Political will and enough financing is required to achieve SDG 9. The challenges are poor transport facilities, poor internet access, and inadequate Research and Development investment in developing countries.

The covid19 pandemic has hit hard our industries. COVID-19 crisis management is all about managing healthcare, social services, economic development, and public investment. However, preparedness and resilience, helped us to bounce back.

Apart from the impact on healthcare, education was equally affected during the pandemic. Educators & Students demonstrated remarkable resilience and flexibility. Educators empowered themselves with new technology skills and students loved embracing the change. A number of creative solutions have been implemented so that there is no lockdown for learning.

Distance and Virtual learning have now become very popular.
