Ola the online cab booking app has launched its new service Ola Electric which finally opened up bookings for its upcoming electric scooter. It just costs rupees 499 to hire the new electric scooter for which the deposit is refundable.
The customers who are interested in hiring it can book the electric scooter through the company’s official Indian website olaelectric.com. The company said that those who reserve the electric scooter in advance will get the delivery of the scooter on a priority basis. Last week, Bhavish Aggarwal, the Group CEO and Chairman of Ola Electric had revealed some interesting facts on the e-scooter. He said that the e-scooter will pose the best under-seat storage in the said segment. He also said that it will come with mobile app-based access. The scooter will have the best in segment range as well which is 150 km per charge.
The company said that the electric scooter’s full features and its price will be revealed in the coming days. Other key features of the electric scooter will include LED lighting, front disc brake, smartphone connectivity and also a completely digital dashboard instrument cluster. The launch of the electronic scooter is very imminent and it is expected to be priced around Rs 1 lakh. The scooter will give staunch competition to others in the segment like the Ather 450X and TVS iQube which are currently considered as the best electronic scooters which are on sale in India.
Ola Electric on the evening of July 15th opened the reservation for its electric scooter via olaelectric.com. Since then, the company has been seeing a very high demand from its customers who continued to keep thronging the company’s website to book the e-scooter in record-breaking numbers, Ola Electric said.

The Scooter will be an Indian product and will be manufactured at the firm’s Rs 2,400-crore modern Future factory located in Krishnagiri district in Tamil Nadu.
