A poem on sdg16 for the RiseUp4SDGs Newsletter
Let’s reduce all forms of violence, sexual, physical, or psychological,
Men, women, and children on earth live happily, so very logical.
Let’s protect children from abuse, torture, punishment, and exploitation,
As children just deserve love, encouragement, guidance, and motivation.
For victims of violence, unsentenced detainees, and prison population,
Let’s promote rule of Law and equal access to justice for generations.
Organized crime, illegal markets, tax practices, arms, and financial flow,
Let’s strengthen recovery, return of assets and work for income to grow.
Substantially reduce corruption and bribery in all public offices in all their forms,
Let’s develop effective, accountable, and transparent institutions to practice reforms.
People to influence their future, decision making and voicing concerns in all decorum,
Let’s ensure effective responsive, inclusive opportunities for every country at all forums.
Broaden and strengthen the voting rights of developing countries in global governance,
Let’s provide universal legal identity, name, nationality, and recognitions in abundance
Ensure the right to information, protect journalists, media personnel, human rights advocates
Let’s call for international cooperation to prevent violence, crimes, and terrorist dictates
To Build a fairer and a safer world, provide fundamental freedom and justice for all,
Peaceful and inclusive societies develop a culture of peace and non-violence for all.
Let’s promote and enforce non-discriminatory laws and policies in our constitutions,
Let’s all educators Rise Up for SDG16 to build Peace, Justice, and Strong Institutions.
