Hyundai Motor Company and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) signed a joint agreement christened ‘for Tomorrow’ to speed up the achievement of the 2030 sustainable development goals.
They will work together under this agreement to build and set up a global initiative to speed up the achievement of 2030 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). The actress and social impact entrepreneur Jessica Alba officially endorses ‘for Tomorrow’.
To end poverty, safeguard the planet, to guarantee peace and prosperity for the global population by 2030, The United Nations (UN) adopted the aforementioned SDGs as a global call to action in 2015. UNDP is committed to supporting the local investors to change the world for today, for tomorrow and future as well, said Achim Steiner, UNDP Administrator. With the partnership of Hyundai, UNDP is ready to explore new ways of connecting the pioneering mind and help them to unleash their full potential to build a greener, more inclusive, more resilient, and more sustainable future.
“Through this project, Hyundai Motor Company will help mobilize the power of cooperation and innovation to engineer sustainable progress for humanity”, said Euisun Chung of Hyundai Motors. They aim to offer concrete solutions for many of our problems today.
‘for Tomorrow’ will allow both Hyundai and UNDP to crowdsource innovations for the betterment of the world and enable the execution and implementation of these solutions. They are trying to alleviate the growing environmental and socio-economic challenges currently plaguing the world with assistance from the UNDP Accelerator Labs.
UNDP Accelerator Labs is a worldwide network of 60 labs to effectively tend to global challenges by leverage local innovations to generate actionable insights envision sustainable development in accordance to the 21st century.
Through ‘for Tomorrow’, Hyundai Motor Company to share its commitment and social responsibilities to sustainable mobility and lifestyle via its vision of enabling ‘Progress for Humanity’. It’s aimed at spreading messages of sustainability to people around the world and turning their proposals for sustainable innovation into tangible initiatives.

The signing ceremony was held online between the Executive Vice-Chairman of Hyundai Motor Company, Euisun Chung, and UNDP Administrator Achim Steiner, due to the ongoing Covid-19 pandemic. British journalist Lucy Siegle moderated the conversation between them.
