Observe Independence Day for a Different Kind of Freedom

Freedom from environmental damages

Each day every soul struggles a lot to get free from anything that is being a hindrance to their growth and development.  India took almost 90 years to get free from the coloniser.  Even after Independence, there are many sections of people who fight for their freedom from various sources which are being obstructions to growth.

Likewise, in recent times the menacing condition of the earth, from the environmental destruction and the climatic change has created a global demand to protect and conserve nature and earth from further damage calling for another global freedom movement towards the betterment of the environment.

Overuse of fossil fuels and high carbon emissions are the utmost reasons for the grave situation of the planet. Being a high energy generator and efficiency increasing agent, fossil fuels have conquered the planet in the energy-producing sector, accounting for the development of countries globally.  Unfortunately, these fossil fuels have contributed to a catastrophe towards nature and the planet which in turn is a blight for human existence.  In particular, petrol and diesel being highly used for locomotive and industrial purposes had never settling demands due to the dependency of it. This dependency and the unwillingness to change from petrol and diesel to other forms of energy have resulted in colossal emission of carbon.

The detrimental effects of the production of petrol and diesel do not just stop there, it is even worse with its by-products’ production like plastics and paints.  Irrespective of land or ocean or atmosphere, petrol, diesel and its by-products have effects on anything and everything.  High Carbon emission has resulted in locking the heat in the earth whereby resulting in global warming.  Apart from this, burning of petrol and diesel have a high environmental impact causing air pollution on one hand and extracting and mining these fossil fuels have resulted in severe air pollution, water pollution, ocean acidification and land degradation.  The extraction and use of these fossil fuels harm both humans and nature.

Understanding the intensity of the need to change the dependency on fossil fuels has provided alternative energy utilisation sources through renewable energy resources like solar, wind and biomass.  Completely shifting to alternate energy resources may happen in no time from now, but stopping the use of fossil fuels or even reducing the use of fossil fuels is a top priority as of now.  For locomotive purposes using public transport is highly recommended along with carpooling system as well as the use of the cycle.  The use of cycle being eco-friendly and economic friendly also have a health portion attached to it.  Recent inventions of solar cars, electric bikes are also a good step ahead of freedom from fossil fuels.

Take part in the freedom movement against fossil fuels (Petrol and Diesel), and contribute towards a healthy and clean environment.
