Patanjali Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd, a manufacturer of Solar PV Modules, Solar Street Light, Solar Water Pump, Solar Inverter and Solar Home Lighting solutions. In an exclusive interview with Saur Energy International during the 12th Edition of Renewable Energy India (REI) Expo 2018 at Greater Noida, Sudhir Garg, Director, Patanjali Renewable Energy spoke about his company’s vision, future expansion plans, its product offerings for the Indian solar market, etc.

WHY ENTERING THE SOLAR INDUSTRY?

Swamiji has a vision of make in India products, his vision was to coming into Solar business to reach the entire public of India even from the grassroots level. So, Solar panels because, we focus more on green energy products. So, Swamiji’s was to start his own Venture and do the solar business for that we started our won solar Manufacturing plant which is based in Greater NOIDA where we are making 100MW a year.“, told Umesh Srivastava, General Manager, Patanjali Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd.

In India, the government has been focusing more on the solar business but here we don’t have much solar cell manufacturing capacity and wafer is not available in India which is the basic raw material for solar cells that is why not even a big corporate has entered in this business only small ones are here,” added Umesh Srivastava, GM, Patanjali Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd.

WHERE DOES PATANJALI RENEWABLE ENERGY STAND IN THE MARKET IN THE TERMS OF CAPACITY?

We have started this business in 2017, to be frank in this span of two years, we have come around about a turnover of 30-40 crores,it is not much if compared with our main business because, Solar is a very niche market, what we are selling is not a household product like Atta, Manjan, etc. But, we will grow for sure in the future.“, added Umesh Srivastava, GM, Patanjali Renewable Energy Pvt Ltd.
