‘SUNKONNECT’ TO CAPTURE THE RENEWABLE ENERGY FIELD

Sunkonnect Pte. Ltd., the global renewable management consulting firm based in Singapore with over 10 years of experience within the renewable energy field, including the areas of solar PV technology production, manufacturing, quality assessment, and systems deployment. Their team is currently working with system owners, developers, EPC players, and manufacturers in making significant and long-lasting improvements to their systems, products, and processes.

Being a newly formed company, they are thinking of being partners of the existing corporates in the field. They are bringing PV quality services to the customers and trying to be the only company that works with players in both downstream and upstream segments to ensure the quality of modules produced and deployed, to bridge the gap between the developers and manufacturers.

They are developing a data analytics and machine learning platform to study their clients and minimize their losses.

The solar market in India will be more adaptive to technological changes and advanced data analytics in the future, so the industry is currently dealing with the Photo-Voltaic (PV) module and system quality issues.  The main issues faced by the PV module manufactures are the material quality and the manufacturing process. Low-quality materials are available in the market and who have an over-focus on material costs will go for low quality which gradually leads them to low profits as the quality sacrifices. There is also a lack of control over manufacturing processes.

Sunkonnect is currently developing a bifacial-PERC double-glass module which is expected to have a 5-7% higher energy yield under standard conditions over conventional technology. The technology is ready for market acquisition and they are looking to deploy it for projects across India. They are also working to develop a long-lasting Vanadium redox flow battery, from 100% recyclable materials, and does not degrade over 25 years even at 100% depth of discharge, for a safe and reliable energy storage solution.

Sunkonnect is currently working on providing technical consultancy for a 100 MW PV power plant by TATA Power Renewable Energy commissions in Anantapur of Andhra Pradesh. Now they are developing a project called ‘RISE with Sunkonnect’, in partnership with educational institutions to install solar rooftops and thereby reduces the energy consumption of the institution and also functions as a live-lab to facilitate renewable energy education for the students.

Their blockchain platform connecting PV materials to the installed solar energy system will empower developers to predict their energy yield with accuracy when using these materials for their projects.
