The Secret to a Protracted and Happy Life – Wellness with Sphoorti

IKIGAI – LIFE’S PURPOSE

All of us have an ikigai (pronounced ee-kee-guy), a ‘path to life fulfillment.  Japan is known for life practices that lead to longevity and studies on philosophy show life fulfillment through ikigai is a key component to longevity.

In this video, Sphoorti is giving an insight into Ikigai and its relevance in our lives.

At the union of four fundamental components – passion, vocation, profession, and mission – we shall find our ikigai.

Ikigai is only complete if the goal is directed towards the service to the community. Practicing ikigai means defining our purpose, our personal mission, and discovering our full potential. The aim is to define what we can best contribute to the world, what we are good at, and what we enjoy doing.

Those who are actively working to discover their ikigai are expected to have higher self-esteem and a feeling that their presence in the world is accounted for.

When we find our ikigai, things become easier and pleasant as we are in sync with our capabilities.
