The Solar Energy Project for Rural Parts of India

Solar energy is currently considered to be one of the most sustainable forms of energy across the globe. Each year more and more people tend to turn towards this source to generate electricity and power their electronic devices. In a region where sunlight is abundant, it is one of the most viable and useful choices.

But what about areas that are located in the mountainous regions such as the Himalayas where the sunlight is not that consistent?

To answer to that we need to look into the Solar energy project which is being done by the U.K firm Power Roll. They are working on a project that can be effective in the rural parts of India such as the Himalayas where sun rays are weak. It is capable of making 1 unit of energy at 0.03USD and can be fixed on top of thin roofed buildings found in rural areas which can’t bear the weight of normal panels.

It consists of a lightweight panel system which is portable and has a power storage system along with it. Power Roll is currently working with The Energy Resource Institute and the project is in a trial phase. Once the trials are over and if the project is a success many rural areas in India can use this technology to help generate energy.

It will provide a clean source of energy to the people at low prices.

Projects like these are necessary these days where the world turns its head towards clean and safe energy which is sustainable. With the population explosion, more and more people require energy for their day to day living and this is straining the non-renewable sources by a great deal. Solar energy is available in abundance but people hesitate to use them due to their cost, low performance and other such factors. The Solar Energy Industry is still in its infancy and unless it undergoes positive changes like the above-mentioned project people will depend on other forms of energy which can be exhausted in near future if it is not dealt with sooner or later.

The number of solar energy users is slowly on the rise but the transition period will take a while and lot more effort to persuade them to choose this over other forms of energy.
