Mr.Yusuf Tarub, head consultant Inhabit stated that it is really important to build self-sustained buildings in resource crunch nation like India.

“The best time to build a green building was 20 years ago the second-best time is now,” is more than a slogan for the company, a way of life…

Automated E-Facility:

In Coimbatore, Sierra ODC Private Ltd with its E-facility software has not just worked to make it greenest but also the smartest building of the world. The power-saving just starts at the entrance with a motorable automatic gate that opens as much it is required and stays open in peak hours. There is a fully automated visitors management system requires just a few formalities like a mobile number to generate OTP and a selfie. People with a smart card can just flash it in front of the camera to gain entrance.

Smart Use Of Solar Energy:

Use of natural daylight is the key to curb power consumptions, most of the windows facing west and east allow more sunlight to enter the facility and for a longer period of the day. Inhabit being the consulting firm explored many new areas to reach what we see as part of the facility. The sensor-activated lights and absence of switches ensure no lamp is left on due to human error. All the light are LED and the building has mercury-free lights.

Zero Water Toilets:

Mostly the water at a commercial place is wasted in the toilets but the zero or toilet systems prevent this water wastage and the sensor-activated taps too help in stopping the waste of water. Intelligent structure and design foresight from Inhabit made the Sierra achieve 100%  carbon neutrality the building generates all of its energy from its solar panels.

Solar Panels For Power Generation:

These solar panels are installed with the automatic sprinkler cooling system that maintains the temperature of solar panels below a threshold temperature and keeps them dust-free. This is also the only building in South India having photovoltaic glass panels, that to generate power.

Rain Water Harvesting:

The water from the rainwater harvesting is used to water the 25% open vegetation with drip irrigation system. The terrace garden provides with organic vegetables for the kitchen that consists of only electronic machines. The organic waste of the kitchen is turned into manure for gardens. The whole building is automated and smart in all sense.

It is the 2nd most green building in the world among the 90,000 buildings from 164 countries who got LEED certificate and got the platinum certification. InHabit have been able to add gem in their lists of green building projects.
