Climate Change Construction Processes Energy Efficiency Green Building Well Being

Why is it Important to have Your New buildings Green Certified These Days?

Construction has been one of the main sources of air pollution and a huge factor that contributes to global warming. It lets out a lot of dust and other harmful particles into the air. It also has many other impacts on the environment around which it is built. The main problem in this field arises due to the use of traditional ways of constructing a building where it not just creates pollution but also waste resources such as water, electricity and other nonrenewable resources.

This is precisely the reason why the need has arisen for us to change our traditional ways and look forward to more sustainable ways. There are many latest technologies that can make construction safer and ecofriendly. Of course, the price may vary a bit but it will benefit all of us in the future. At the current rate, scientists predict that we may not last this century as there have been rapid climate changes in the past few years and global warming is rising at an alarming pace.

Now, let us have a glance at a green certificate in construction.

A green certificate in construction indicates that the building which was constructed is with the minimal of resources and through latest means. It indicates that the construction means used are eco friendly and no resource (like water energy etc.) was wasted. Take the example of sustainable cement. It helps reduce pollution when compared to traditional cement made in kilns. The material will be just as strong but new techniques are used to reduce the environmental impact.

So, what advantage does this certificate give to a construction agency and the building owners?

Well, for starters it helps improve the construction mechanism involved. It helps prevent of wastage of resources and reduces the environmental impact of construction. It gives a competitive edge to the builder over other firms working on the same field and people will tend to take up their construction due to the advantages. It also adds to the goodwill of the firm. As for the people who own the building there will be an overall reduction in building cost as lesser materials are required. The whole point here is to see it as a long-term investment more than on the profit terms. We can also live with a clearer conscience that we did our part to preserve our surroundings for future generations to come.

Are you willing to make that change? Will you ask for a green certificate for your buildings as well? Time will tell what difference we can make together.
